Abdullah Al-Haddad
Registered Social Worker MSW, RSW, Alberta
Hi there and welcome to Psychotherapy for you!
My name is Abdullah, and I am a registered Social Worker in both Ontario and Alberta. I hold a Bachelor of Social Work and Disability Studies as well as a Master of Social Work both from the University of Windsor. Life can be very challenging at times – especially in our ever-changing modern world, and I want to be that partner to help you get through your tough times. My colleagues and loved ones would describe me as someone who is empathetic, genuine, and always willing to lend support to those around me. I always meet my clients where they are at via a client centered approach through an intersectional and trauma informed framework and evidence-based practice.
Some of the main modalities I use with my clients include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Strength Based Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, as well as Short Term Brief Therapy. Whether I am seeing clients that are men, women, couples, youth, or families – I am open to
My lived experiences are what compelled me to enter the field of counselling as I have been faced with much adversity in my own life. Coming from an immigrant background and being a visible minority myself, as well as living with a chronic disability – I can with full conviction say that I understand that each person’s lived experience really does shape the way they experience the world via power, privilege, and oppression. Outside of counselling some of my personal interests include exploring nature, adventuring, learning about different cultures, listening to podcasts, and trying out foods from around the world. I look forward to seeing you in session.
