MSW, RSW
Registered Social Worker
Psychotherapist

Hi there!  My name is Cory, I’m from the north shore in New Brunswick but I have been calling Nova Scotia my home for the past 14 years.  I’m a big fan of basketball, cycling, running, walking my elderly Jack Russell Terrier, traveling, 90’s music, and anything outdoors that is summer related.  Winter… not so much!

I have a BA from the University of Guelph, a Bachelors of Social Work from the University of Victoria, and a clinical Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Waterloo.  I pride myself in helping individuals, couples, and families to cultivate the motivation and tools to work towards meaningful change. From my experience with working with Nova Scotians in the mental health and addiction field for over 10 years I have witnessed that it is sometimes easy to get stuck in patterns of unhelpful thinking and behaviors.  I utilize different modalities and take a strengths-based to breaking old routines while creating healthy new ones. Let’s work together and tailor a treatment plan specifically for you in order to make change a reality.

"Slow breathing is like an anchor in the midst of an emotional storm: the anchor won't make the storm go away, but it will hold you steady until it passes." - Russ Harris

Main modalities utilized:
Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Structured Relapse Prevention, Strengths-Based Approach.
