Deanna Hart

Master of Social Work (MSW)

You don’t need to explain why you’re tired, overwhelmed, or stuck.
If you’ve been living in survival mode, feeling disconnected from yourself or unsure how to move forward, therapy can help you feel steadier, safer, and more like yourself again.

I specialize in working with trauma, complex trauma (C-PTSD), and nervous system overwhelm. I support adults who have experienced chronic, relational, and identity-impacting trauma, including survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, and human trafficking. Many of the clients I work with have tried therapy before and felt it didn’t go deep enough or move too fast. My approach is paced, collaborative, and trauma-informed, with a strong focus on safety, stabilization, and meaningful change.

Who I work with

I support adolescents and adults experiencing:

  • Complex trauma and C-PTSD

  • PTSD and developmental trauma

  • Anxiety, panic, and phobias

  • Depression and chronic stress

  • Emotional dysregulation and shutdown

  • Shame, guilt, and self-blame

  • Attachment and relationship wounds

  • Domestic abuse and sexual assault (IPV)

  • Addiction and coping behaviours

My approach

My work integrates evidence-based and trauma-informed modalities, including:

  • EMDR

  • Somatic trauma therapy

  • Parts work/ego state work

  • CBT, DBT, and REBT

  • Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT)

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Solution-Focused Therapy

  • Polyvagal informed therapy

Sessions are guided by you and your readiness. We move at a pace that works best for you without rushing, pushing, or overwhelming.

About me

I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Windsor and am a registered member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. My background includes work as an addiction counsellor and supporting individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, eating disorders, anger, and stress.

Whether this is your first time in therapy or you’re returning after previous work, we’ll take things one step at a time together.
